Robert Goodwill MP welcomes joint-lowest unemployment in over 10 years

Mr Goodwill has welcomed the news that unemployment across the UK remains at the joint lowest rate for over a decade – down nearly 900,000 since 2010 – according to the latest set of labour market figures out today, with 188,000 more people back in work in Yorkshire and Humber since 2010. 

Scarborough RNLI's £2m lifeboat arrives at new home.

The Shannon class lifeboat reached Scarborough after travelling from where it was built in Poole, Dorset, on the south coast.

Named Frederick William Plaxton, the boat is powered by water jets rather than traditional propellers.

Robert Goodwill talks Transport for the North

Mr Goodwill met with David Brown, Chief Executive at Transport for the North (TfN) to discuss plans for future investment in Scarborough and Whitby as well as recently submitted proposal to the Department for Transport to become a statutory Sub-national Transport Body.
